Commencing his Taekwondo journey in 1986 at the age of three, Mark was born into an active and dedicated Taekwondo family. With a rich history of competing as a kyorugi athlete and teaching at the family club, Mark developed a passion for coaching and teaching. To formalise and deepen his knowledge and capability, Mark completed Bachelor of Education with a major in Health and Physical Education and Coaching in 2004. In enacting and applying his knowledge and skill set, Mark was a classroom Year 6 and Year 7 teacher and Health and Physical Education Specialist for an extensive period of time. Following being recognised as a Highly Accomplished Teacher, he earned the role as a Deputy Principal at a large Primary School. Currently, Mark is a school Principal at a large school in Logan and is now enjoying leading a school community and developing the pedagogical and curriculum knowledge of his peers and staff.
Through his competitive experience and extensive knowledge of teaching and learning, Mark is able to effectively engage Taekwondo athletes and communicate the subtle nuances of the sparring craft. Mark is a One Taekwondo High Performance Coach, and enjoys challenging young athletes in a variety of sports to achieve a relative gain of improvement with a focus on performance rather than results.
