Master Hur began practising Taekwondo in 1975. When he arrived in Perth from his native Korea in 1977, he trained alongside some of Australia's top Taekwondo practitioners under master Sok Pong Kim. In the mid-1980s, he ran three successful Dojangs in the Western Australian suburbs of Balga, Bentley, and Kelmscott. In addition, from 1992 to 2005, he lived in Korea for 13 years, where he trained under renowned Korean masters and organised numerous training camps for Australian and European students at leading Korean Taekwondo universities. He is always enthusiastic about Taekwondo and attends classes at our full-time facility in Coopers Plains.
Jordan has been one of Australia's top sparring competitors in his division for many years. His most notable achievements include making the Australian team for the Commonwealth Games and finishing second in the senior world championship selections. He is a popular instructor among the little ones because he is always full of energy.
Sadhbh works alongside a team of elite and pre-elite Taekwondo athletes in Brisbane, Queensland. Her role is athlete identification, performance planning and modelling alongside a dynamic and comprehensive training regime.
Aja, a former Tangsoodo specialist, is our daily instructor who is well-liked by our students due to her friendly demeanour. Her ability to teach while displaying many qualities such as patience, gentleness, and, most importantly, child management skills is a valuable asset to our club. A mother of four children, all of whom are club members, is also an enthusiastic Poomsae student and competitor.
Commencing his Taekwondo journey in 1986 at the age of three, Mark was born into an active and dedicated Taekwondo family. With a rich history of competing as a kyorugi athlete and teaching at the family club, Mark developed a passion for coaching and teaching. To formalise and deepen his knowledge and capability, Mark completed Bachelor of Education with a major in Health and Physical Education and Coaching in 2004.
